quote New Year, New Adventures

This is by far my favorite word in the English language. Growing up I dreamed of traveling the world and so far I’ve had pretty amazing adventures. Life is short and unpredictable and when you really sit down and think about many of us are banking on time we may not have.

2013 was a bittersweet year for us. There were goodbyes and new additions to the family. New Friends and chapters. Overall 2013 was somewhat emotionally draining.

While we sat down on New Year’s Eve curled up at home, Greg and I talked about what our resolutions would be for 2014. We decided that instead of concrete resolutions that fail by Day 3, we’d try to focus on something that would make us better humans; not wealth or weight loss (though both would be fantastic!) but things we could do every single day

For 2014, We’ve decided to be more adventurous and be more active.

While we were dating we would go on hikes and take long drives to the countryside visiting old towns that the world has seemed to forgotten. Now that we’ve gained more responsibilities in our day-to-day almost all of our adventures have turned to “Someday we should…” If 2013 has taught us anything, it’s that tomorrow is never promised and that every moment should be one well lived, with no regrets.

Greg and I love the life we’re building together but we want to make sure that every last moment is spent doing what we love. I mean you only get one chance right?

“But you are wrong if you think that the joy of life comes principally from the joy of human relationships.

God’s place is all around us, it is in everything and in anything we can experience.

People just need to change the way they look at things.” -Into the Wild
